Karachi Blast of 9th January

The tragic blast of Karachi, January 19 took nine precious lives and left fifty two seriously wounded rendering them fully and partially crippled. How the incident took place is not so important. When and why are of prime significance. The unfortunate incident took place when President Pervez Musharraf was present in the city. No sooner than the blast took place firing and picketing started in various parts of the city, almost simultaneously. Losses caused by the hooliganism yet remain to be reported. But serious traffic jams and fear were immediate results.

Some channels were found crying hoarse to give impetus to the fact people of particular ethnic group were made target. Some people were also shown expressing anger that no ambulance had reached for two hours whereas slides were running of TV that authorities and ambulances had reached the place of happening. It all seemed to be a preplanned scheme to create trouble.

Now when the government is bent upon holding the election on stipulated time and the major political parties have decided to fight the battle by ballots any sort of chaos may benefit only those who made wrong decisions to boycott elections.
