The most senior Muslim policeman in Britain has complained about the treatment which he was facing at the highest level of the Metropolitan police department. He said that he has been subjected to discrimination over a long period by the present Commissioner Sir Ian Blair.

Tariq Ghaffur has lodged a complaint with employment tribunal over this discrimination and has said that he has nothing to do with unhappiness at not being promoted.

In our own Islamic Republic of Pakistan where we always hear about Islamic brotherhood, such complaints are not uncommon. There is a quota system for government jobs in the country which discriminates between the people on the basis of birth, religion and language.
